Shop Technician

Responsibilities

• Dismount, mount, and balance tires on rims and fill them to proper air pressure
• Inspect and test tires to ensure conformance to standards and determine repair feasibility
• Perform repairs on tube and tubeless tires, including patching, replacing treads, and changing tubes
• Unbolt and remove wheels from vehicles using hand or power tools
• Balance wheels and tire assemblies and rotate wheels at prescribed intervals
• Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment, tire changing machines, and balancing equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized shop environment and manage tire inventory
• Perform preventative maintenance checks on vehicle tires and related components

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 months of related experience/training
• Physical strength to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 75 lbs
• Manual dexterity and the ability to coordinate multiple limbs to manipulate objects
• Ability to operate diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach as required by the role
