About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee quality assurance and control in pipe fabrication and structural welding per CWB and ASME standards
- Review welding procedures, isometric drawings, and fabrication standards
- Monitor welding processes, welder qualifications, and procedure adherence
- Conduct fit-up, in-process, and final inspections of welded pipe spools and structural components
- Identify and document nonconforming items and oversee corrective action plans
- Maintain inspection records, weld maps, and traceability documentation
- Liaise with third-party inspectors, clients, and regulatory bodies
- Verify calibration of measurement and testing equipment
- Support material receiving inspections including heat numbers and MTR verification
- Participate in NCR investigations and root cause analysis
Requirements
- Active CWB Welding Inspector registration (CSA Standard W178.2-18)
- Valid CWB W59 Inspector Level I
- Ability to interpret isometric drawings and welding symbols
- Proficiency in measuring fabricated components and assemblies
- Working knowledge of CSA W47.1 and W59
- Basic knowledge of NDT processes
- 1-3 years of experience in a workshop environment or entry level
- Strong communication skills
