Shop Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and routine maintenance including oil changes and fluid checks
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using computer diagnostic equipment
• Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brake systems, steering mechanisms, and suspension systems
• Conduct safety checks to ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations
• Communicate repair plans and vehicle status updates to supervisors and drivers
• Complete work orders and maintain detailed maintenance records
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and diagrams
• Proficiency with computer diagnostic software and standard shop tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
