Shop Laborer

Responsibilities

• Insulate and assemble products for delivery
• Use sealant to properly seal products
• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to identify materials and containers
• Load and unload materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage
• Transport materials from storage or work sites to the shipping area
• Count, weigh, and record the number of units handled on daily production sheets
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials and containers
• Assist in various departments as needed to support factory operations

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent preferred
• Previous factory or warehouse experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds frequently
• Ability to lift up to 200 pounds with the assistance of other employees
• Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to use a tape measure
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Reliable and punctual attendance, including ability to work overtime or weekends if required
