Shop Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the full flow of repair and reconditioning projects for Plated Heat Exchangers (PHE) to improve throughput and utilization.
• Create comprehensive job packets including drawings, quality plans, checklists, and EHS documentation.
• Manage MRP tasks such as ordering parts, creating purchase orders for outsourced services, and scheduling freight.
• Support the Service Center in meeting KPIs, operational targets, and managing job costs to maintain margins.
• Provide regular project updates, analyze performance metrics, and advise on corrective actions for schedule deviations.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities (ALPS), including daily huddles and Kaizen sessions.
• Interface with customers via conference calls to communicate project status and schedule impacts.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all consumables are properly tracked and managed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of production or operations planning and scheduling experience in manufacturing or service environments.
• Expert-level experience with ERP systems.
• Strong working knowledge of CPM scheduling tools such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (experience with Power Pivot, Power Query, or VLOOKUP is highly preferred).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in project controls, including cost engineering, logistics, or contracts.
• Experience applying LEAN methodologies or other process-improvement tools.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings/blueprints and an understanding of machining or welding processes.
• Experience with Power BI.
