About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise shipping activities and manage a team of 10 to 15 employees.
  • Coordinate shipping personnel, including load distribution and priority tracking.
  • Manage inventory levels based on production needs and plan stock replenishment to avoid shortages.
  • Collaborate with transport coordinators to plan shipment size and composition, communicating with drivers and logistics partners.
  • Resolve shipping issues and analyze root causes of errors to propose sustainable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards for the warehouse and outdoor yard.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Train staff on tasks, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Manage human resources within the department according to the collective agreement, including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to occupational health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • DEP in logistics, transport, operations management, or a related field (AEC/DEC in industrial management is also accepted).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in shipping or logistics.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing sector.
  • Bilingualism in French and English.
  • Proficiency in shipping and receiving operations (order preparation, packaging, loading, documentation).
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ERP software (e.g., SAP, JD Edwards, Genius).
  • Knowledge of international trade.
  • Experience with heavy or volumetric agricultural equipment.
  • Knowledge of transport standards (road, LTL, oversized loads).
