Shipper

Responsibilities

• Manage clerical functions related to the shipping department, including staffing, dock space, and reporting
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet all store specifications and quality standards
• Direct others in preparing outgoing shipments to ensure adherence to predetermined time schedules
• Communicate effectively with internal and external contacts to resolve shipping issues
• Operate hand trucks and other equipment to move or hoist shipments within the facility
• Maintain a safe work environment by following housekeeping practices and reporting potential hazards
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• At least 2 years of experience in a distribution or warehouse environment
• Experience operating heavy equipment
• Moderate to advanced computer skills
• Ability to lift cartons weighing 10 to 55 pounds repetitively
• Ability to stand and walk for 6 to 10 hours per day
• Capability to become certified through the company Lift Truck Training Program
• Ability to work in varying temperatures ranging from 25 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit
