Shift Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Maintain the security and safety of campus personnel and property through regular patrols by vehicle, foot, and golf cart
• Conduct investigations into incidents or safety/security concerns and complete accurate reports in a timely manner
• Enforce university rules, regulations, and policies in a professional and courteous manner
• Respond to emergency conditions and act as a campus liaison after university business hours
• Provide assistance to campus personnel, including escorts, special watches, and support at special events

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Prior experience in law enforcement, military police, public safety, or emergency services
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple stressful tasks simultaneously, including radio and phone communications
• Valid US driver's license and ability to meet University driving standards
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and undergo random testing
