Shift Operator

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day execution of operations and monitoring programs to ensure uninterrupted tenant operations
• Maintain building environment comfort levels through computerized building automation systems or manual systems
• Monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS) and respond to alarms and system notifications
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and determine root causes of equipment and building problems
• Develop and implement control procedures to increase efficiency of building operations
• Perform shift tours and record logs for equipment status, temperatures, pressures, and utilities
• Conduct weekly generator inspections and generator run ups
• Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building equipment
• Receive and action tenant service requests or dispatch them to appropriate personnel

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Building Environmental Systems (BES 2) certification
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
• Canadian Citizenship with ability to obtain Secret clearance (10 years continuous residency in Canada)
• Good understanding of HVACR, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Lift Safety
• Strong computer skills and basic tool competence
• Ability to communicate effectively in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Power Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or Electrical Technology diploma
• Ontario Trade Certificate of Qualification or equivalent
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
