About the role
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and test equipment and systems associated with plant operations, including cooling water, compressed air, HVAC, and electrical distribution
- Troubleshoot assigned systems and equipment to ensure the reliability of critical infrastructure
- Coordinate and oversee field work activities, ensuring safe and efficient execution
- Perform switching and tagging (LOTO) to support site maintenance and operations
- Develop new operating procedures and maintenance plans for systems being designed and commissioned
- Support training efforts to prepare operations staff for safe and effective plant operations
- Work 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 facility coverage
Requirements
- High School Graduate/GED or Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in operations at complex facilities (e.g., power plants, oil & gas, LNG)
- Experience in high-voltage or complex electrical environments
- Experience with large cooling water systems
- Previous qualification in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) or Tagging Programs
- Strong safety background and understanding of engineering principles for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to work in a facility containing industrial hazards such as heat, cold, noise, strong magnets, and high voltage
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts and perform physical activities including climbing and standing
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field
- Experience in radiological environments
- Experience with cryogenic plants
- Strong background in Human Performance principles
- Experience with software controls development
