About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform normal substation monitoring and operation, including startup and shutdown of components and auxiliaries during normal and emergency conditions
  • Respond to abnormalities and implement corrective actions following established operating procedures
  • Conduct routine substation tours to inspect equipment and provide feedback to the team
  • Comply with all site safety requirements, identify hazards, and take necessary corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate shift operating logs, records, time sheets, and work orders
  • Perform switching and tagging of equipment in accordance with approved procedures
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks
  • Investigate site incidents and accidents to provide analysis, recommendations, and follow-up plans
  • Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on all systems and equipment
  • Coordinate continuously with EETC/NECC for dispatching and the LTSA team for WTG O&M
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly plant reporting on operational activities

Requirements

  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of proven experience as an operation engineer in a substation environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of MV SWGR, HV-AIS equipment, and Power Transformers
  • Proficiency with Substation Automation Systems (SAS), protection relays, and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret substation system schematics
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of Health & Safety (H&S) procedures
  • Ability to work in shifts, under pressure, and in remote conditions
  • Strong communication, reporting, and data analysis skills
