Shift Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage operational teams on shift to achieve productivity, safety, and customer performance standards
• Ensure effective communication of standards and procedures through pre-start safety discussions and meetings
• Direct the use of appropriate equipment in a safe and productive manner to prevent damage and maintain productivity
• Manage the performance of operational teams to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Complete and process required documentation, including damage reports, discharge plans, and load plans
• Communicate and consult with vessel Chief Officers to ensure performance objectives meet vessel plans
• Monitor compliance with Employment Agreements, OH&S, environmental legislation, and company policies
• Identify and submit hazard and near-miss reports and conduct safety observations

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Mining, Ports, or Logistics industries
• Essential experience working in high-risk operational environments
• National Police Clearance dated within 12 months of application
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Current and appropriate licenses (e.g., forklift, rigger, crane)
• Sound technical knowledge and experience in stevedoring, vessel operations, and planning
