Shift Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead production shifts to ensure high machinery efficiency, product quality, and cost optimization.
• Organize, facilitate, and control all shift activities to achieve production standards.
• Train and develop team members through upskilling, demonstration assessments, and maintaining skill matrices.
• Enforce food safety, quality, and hygiene standards, including "clean as you go" principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Manage cost control by minimizing waste, downtime, and labor usage.
• Troubleshoot machinery issues using root cause analysis and navigate equipment HMIs.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure production lines are handed over clean to subsequent shifts.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and crisis management on the shop floor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of leadership experience, OR 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, OR 2 years of US Military leadership.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work extended days and weekends with flexibility to switch shifts.
• Ability to work in a factory environment with ambient conditions that may be very cold, wet, or warm.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food processing or packaging.
• Experience in Supply Chain or Inventory Control.
• Experience with Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in food processing.
• Experience in a Continuous Improvement environment (Lean manufacturing or Total Productive Maintenance).
• Background in maintenance.
