About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise a medium to large group of technical employees in maintenance operations
- Maintain awareness of safety standards and promote safe work practices, ergonomics, and housekeeping
- Build and maintain working relationships with employees, management, and the UAW union
- Implement systems to prevent the reoccurrence of known technical issues
- Manage the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment to meet production cost and quality requirements
- Lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and support launch or pilot activities
- Coach, teach, and mentor Maintenance Leads, Control Engineers, and Group Leaders
- Manage project priorities and weekend work plans to improve throughput
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of experience in a people leadership role
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with Global Manufacturing System (GMS) knowledge
- Prior Body Shop manufacturing or maintenance experience
- Experience working in a relationship with UAW leadership
