Shift Lead/Barista

Responsibilities

• Maintain a welcoming attitude and guide customers through menus
• Foster professional relationships with regular customers
• Maintain work areas, beverage machinery, and tools in a hygienic manner
• Describe tasting notes of specialty beverages to customers
• Regularly taste coffee and tea to maintain quality standards
• Demonstrate skill in basic latte art
• Master Point of Sale applications and ensure transaction accuracy
• Complete opening, closing, and cleaning checklists
• Package food and doughnut orders according to guidelines
• Ensure food and drink meet safety and quality standards
• Manage inventory using FIFO methods
• Maintain cleanliness of FOH, patio, and bathrooms
• Adhere to food safety laws and standards

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Barista in Specialty Coffee
• Food Handler Certification (must obtain within 90 days)
• Valid ServSafe certification
• Ability to follow recipes and verbal/written instructions
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours)
• Fluency in English
• Legal right to work in the United States
