Shift Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide production line workmen to achieve manufacturing goals and optimize resource utilization
• Supervise and coach the production shop floor team to meet daily shift targets
• Identify and implement improvements to reduce process scrap and efficiency loss
• Manage shift resources and work allocation based on skill matrices and daily priorities
• Maintain shift safety procedures and enhance the EHS culture
• Evaluate machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Kaizen, 5S, and Lean manufacturing (VSM, SMED)
• Develop and maintain process documentation such as PFMEA, Control Plans, and Work Instructions
• Collaborate cross-functionally to execute improvement projects and automation initiatives

Requirements

• BE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production line environment
• Technical knowledge of hard machining processes, specifically Grinding and Honing
• Strong manpower management and resource allocation skills
• Hands-on experience with quality tools including 7 QC tools and 8D
• Knowledge of QMS requirements and experience as an internal auditor/auditee
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 50001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Lean manufacturing tools and SPS (SKF Production System)
• Ability to drive automation projects to convert manual activities
