About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the SHEQ team, providing guidance, support, and professional development
- Support SHEQ strategy aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
- Create and update SHEQ policies, procedures, and management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
- Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses for all operations
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes
- Promote a positive safety culture through training and leadership engagement
- Oversee occupational health programmes and ensure compliance with COSHH and the Health and Safety at Work Act
- Develop and implement environmental policies to minimize environmental footprint
- Implement and maintain quality management systems and conduct audits
- Develop and deliver SHEQ training programmes for employees
- Prepare regular reports on SHEQ performance and statistical analysis
Requirements
- Previous experience in the construction or property services sector
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- CMIOSH or equivalent (or working towards it)
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes
- Understanding of health and safety issues within the property maintenance space
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and subcontractors
