About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor the environment and residents to ensure safety and security through regular status checks and room searches
- Develop and implement case management for assigned residents, including goal setting and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate documentation, including incident logs and required funder reports
- Perform intake and discharge procedures for clients
- Intervene in crisis situations and provide emotional support and advocacy
- Coordinate and facilitate resident programming and community check-ins
- Liaise with police, community agencies, families, and other staff members to support resident needs
Requirements
- Social services Diploma, related Diploma, or Degree
- Completion of Addictions Counselling Courses
- Minimum of one year of frontline social service experience
- Ability to undergo successful background checks, including the Salvation Army Abuse Registry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment involving exposure to drugs, alcohol, and difficult interpersonal situations
