About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor the facility by making regular rounds to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment
- Identify and address hazardous situations and respond to emergencies or drills
- Maintain facility cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and handling laundry
- Manage food services by assisting with meal preparation, serving meals, and maintaining pantry organization
- Inventory supplies and furnishings, noting items that need to be reordered
- Maintain participant sign-in/out sheets and document incidents or behavioral concerns in daily logs
- Act as a point of contact for volunteers and guests, providing orientations and tours
- Handle disputes between participants in a professional and respectful manner to diffuse tension
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, updating rosters, and photocopying
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with low-income or homeless populations
- Ability to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification
- Availability to work swing shifts (3:30 PM–11:30 PM), graveyard shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Access to reliable personal transportation
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- TB test clearance
