Sheet Metal Welding Lead

Responsibilities

• Oversee the work of assigned team employees and delegate assignments based on skills and experience
• Address minor disciplinary issues and assist with the training and orientation of new team members
• Inspect work performed by team members to ensure quality and accuracy
• Collaborate with the Fabrication Supervisor to resolve departmental issues and plan upcoming work
• Track and log worker time, materials, and resources for inventory purposes
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with safety management standards
• Complete assemblies and sub-assemblies for manufacturing projects as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 4+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or a related field
• Proven experience effectively leading a team of employees
• AWS D1.1 FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) certification
• Experience with the dual shield welding process (via formal apprenticeship or 2+ years of experience)
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering diagrams, and written directions
• Proficiency with welding tools, machines, and basic measurement tools (e.g., tape measure)
• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods and lift up to 35 pounds
