SH&E Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support site management and regional safety leadership to achieve zero-incident performance goals.
• Take ownership of distribution safety performance, including onboarding and training new drivers and employees.
• Cultivate a proactive safety culture through partnerships with drivers, employees, and contractors.
• Analyze performance data, driver behavior, and field observations to identify and improve safety trends.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions for transportation safety and operational risks.
• Conduct incident investigations using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and manage follow-through on corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements through regular inspections, driver observations, and ride-alongs.
• Provide technical expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in safety, distribution, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3-5 years of experience in safety, operations, or distribution within an industrial environment.
• Proven knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT compliance programs and regulatory reporting.
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and incident investigation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage employees and management at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.
• Expertise in DOT-related activities and FMCSA knowledge.
