Sessional Lecturer - Digital Health Technology

Responsibilities

• Design and teach the BTC1899H Digital Health Technology course, focusing on commercialization, regulation, and design.
• Prepare and deliver course content, including lectures on human factor engineering and usability analysis.
• Manage all aspects of course administration, including developing and marking assignments, tests, and exams.
• Provide student support through office hours and email communication.
• Supervise student teams during independent study projects focused on digital technology creation.
• Calculate and submit final grades and manage course readings.

Requirements

• PhD in the life sciences.
• Proven industry experience in the healthcare sector (hospital or private sector).
• University teaching experience in accredited courses at a recognized institution.
• Experience with US or Canadian medical device regulation, either through industry practice or academic research (including life science software).

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching this specific course or similar university-level content.
• Experience with courses focused on biotechnology management.
• Experience with entrepreneurship.
• Prior advancement to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or III.
