Service Technician (Telecommunications/Fiber and Copper Networks)

Responsibilities

• Commission and perform final measurements for fiber optic and copper lines, including work on telecommunications cable systems in pipeline and power plant environments.
• Set up and operate structured building cabling (CAT 7), including certified acceptance measurements.
• Conduct fault localization measurements and record operating states in copper and fiber optic networks.
• Perform complex assembly tasks, including the conversion of end closures, distributors, sleeves, and network connection technology.
• Document and measure cable sleeves and conduit occupancy, and maintain passive communication networks.
• Optimize network quality through fiber optic and copper cable measurements within the NRW network.
• Localize and resolve faults on above-ground and underground telecommunications cable systems.
• Coordinate external assembly and troubleshooting measures independently.
• Manage order intake and billing using SAP.

Requirements

• Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering (focus on telecommunications), Electronics Technician for Information and Telecommunications Technology, or a qualified Telecommunications Technician.
• Several years of professional experience in a relevant field of telecommunications.
• In-depth knowledge of CAT 7 structured building cabling.
• Proven experience with certified measurements, such as LWL-OTDR, attenuation, and quality measurements.
• Strong technical understanding, problem-solving skills, and a reliable, independent way of working.
