Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and analyze utility and commercial PV plants, inverters, and associated site equipment
• Develop working knowledge of SMA commercial inverter products and site-specific equipment
• Maintain knowledge of PV plant operations, design, and basis of operations
• Adhere to electrical and safety codes including NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 70E, and NESC
• Work with high voltage DC electricity, three-phase AC power, and SCADA monitoring systems
• Maintain high customer satisfaction while managing service costs

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic, or network communications
• Knowledge of PV solar and/or alternative energy markets
• Knowledge of National Electric Code
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work from heights, on ladders, or with lift equipment
• On-call availability and daily onsite presence required

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in the solar energy industry
• O&M field experience
• Associate's degree in a technical field
• Apprentice/Journeyman training in electrical or PV with 2+ years of experience
• German or Spanish language skills
