Service Operations Specialist

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment at RSB CO, Remote, DLC, and COLO sites
• Conduct advanced OTDR traces and fiber characterization
• Install and troubleshoot voice, data, video services, and CPE
• Manage data entry tasks including trouble tickets, orders, and timesheets
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in operating and repairing network equipment
• Support engineering projects including GPON card installation and equipment upgrades
• Assist Network Operations in resolving hardware issues

Requirements

• 5-7 years of Fiber or Telecom industry experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid, fully unencumbered Driver’s License
• Proficiency in network cabling, basic electrical systems, and telephony
• Experience with GPON and fiber-based services
• Knowledge of IP subnetting and voice services (SIP)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights
• Must reside within 30 minutes of the assigned reporting location

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience maintaining power equipment like rectifiers, batteries, and generators
• Ability to read and understand cross-connects for fiber LCC cabinets
