Service Instructor - Sommelier

Responsibilities

• Educate and train students through practical classes, transmitting essential knowledge, values, and professional aptitudes.
• Assist in teaching according to the specific syllabus for each student group.
• Manage wine service excellence, including supervising wine serving and recommending varieties to guests.
• Create and update wine lists in collaboration with the head sommelier and management.
• Provide expert recommendations on food and wine pairings.
• Oversee cellar management, including stock control, preservation, and ensuring the cellar is fully stocked.
• Organize wine tasting events and collaborate with winemakers to renew selections.
• Implement HACCP standards and product control across various sections.
• Follow ordering protocols and maintain high standards of quality control.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a sommelier, wine steward, or in a professional hospitality role.
• Sommelier certification or a degree in hospitality.
• Extensive knowledge of global wine regions and strong oenology skills.
• Valid food handling certificate and knowledge of HACCP protocols.
• High level of English proficiency; Spanish language skills are preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to manage large volume service and maintain efficient time management.
• Proficiency with computers is an advantage.
