Service Electrician

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of industrial machinery
• Measure, cut, and bend conduit using manual, mechanical, and hydraulic benders
• Pull electrical wire and cable in conduit using manual and power equipment
• Install electrical raceways, lighting fixtures, controls, and distribution equipment
• Connect power supply wiring following manuals, schematics, and blueprints
• Test malfunctioning equipment and repair or replace faulty components
• Repair electric motors and maintain distribution boxes and switching gear
• Teach, train, and guide electrical apprentices
• Demonstrate safe work habits and comply with company safety requirements
• Carry a pager or cell phone for on-call duties as required

Requirements

• Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent experience
• Valid state Journeyworker’s license
• Ability to lift up to and in excess of 75 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders, work at elevated heights, and work in varying weather climates
• Ability to work 10-12 hour days and travel out of town with overnight stays
• Ability to perform physical tasks including crawling, stooping, bending, and crouching
