About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and coach a team of drivers, driver assistants, and dispatchers
- Manage route scheduling and driver debrief processes to ensure customer service levels
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, environmental health, safety, and regulatory standards
- Promote safety initiatives and conduct regular safety meetings and audits
- Support customer satisfaction by resolving service issues and adhering to SLAs and KPIs
- Oversee service center assets, including equipment maintenance and inventory supplies
- Manage payroll, recruitment, and employee performance appraisals
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; B.S. in an environmental-related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in transportation including logistics and planning
- 2+ years of proven leadership experience
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and standards
- Experience with transportation management software; Samsara experience is a plus
- Ability to pass a DEA background check
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and wear required PPE
Preferred Qualifications
- Active CDL
- Experience in the hazardous waste industry
- Knowledge of RCRA regulations
- Experience with process improvement methods like Six Sigma, Lean, or Agile
