SEO Lead

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a holistic SEO strategy covering Technical SEO, Content, and Offpage measures
• Lead and develop the SEO team both professionally and disciplinarily
• Manage the SEO roadmap strategically and prioritize tasks based on measurable KPIs
• Collaborate closely with Communications, Product, Tech, and Design teams
• Oversee technical SEO topics including Crawlability, Indexing, Site Architecture, Core Web Vitals, and Structured Data
• Develop data-driven content and link-building strategies focused on E-E-A-T and keyword clusters
• Implement forward-looking GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategies for AI-driven search engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity
• Analyze performance data and communicate strategic recommendations to the C-level

Requirements

• 5–7 years of SEO experience with proven success in organic visibility and lead generation
• 2–3 years of leadership experience, ideally in scaling SEO teams
• Deep expertise in Technical SEO, On-Page, Content Strategy, and Offpage/Linkbuilding
• Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Sistrix, Google Analytics, Audisto, or Screaming Frog
• Solid technical understanding (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, APIs) and experience working with developers
• Knowledge of AI-based workflows and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
• Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making
• Fluent German and English skills
