Sensory Scientist

Responsibilities

• Act as the panel leader for the descriptive panel, managing the planning, execution, and interpretation of descriptive analysis for corn and flour tortillas and chips.
• Support and execute projects by planning appropriate sensory evaluation methods and communicating findings to R&D, marketing insights, and cross-functional teams.
• Design experiments and perform statistical analysis of results for sensory evaluation assessments.
• Coordinate and collaborate with R&D and business teams on new product development and product improvement projects.
• Execute descriptive panel recalibration efforts to maintain optimal panel capability.
• Generate accurate data and deliver final reports and presentations to stakeholders.
• Provide technical knowledge and representation for the sensory science function.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, technology, or a similar field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sensory science as a core element of your professional role.
• Advanced skills in research design and statistical applications.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to deliver professional presentations.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead descriptive panels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the tortilla and chips product category.
• Experience working within a Stage Gate Process environment.
