Sensory Panel Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage daily sensory laboratory operations, including sample handling, preparation, and storage compliance
• Lead panel recruitment, onboarding, training, and calibration to ensure high performance
• Implement sensory studies according to approved methodologies and research plans
• Create online questionnaires using FIZZ and ensure data accuracy and reliability
• Monitor panel performance using defined indicators such as discrimination ability and repeatability
• Lead, coach, and support Panel Leaders and Technicians
• Present partnership updates and progress reports to clients, including panel activities and KPIs
• Coordinate project scheduling and session plans based on client priorities

Requirements

• BS in Food Science, Biology, Cosmetic Science, Psychology, Marketing, or a related field
• At least 5 years of industry experience
• Strong expertise in sensory science, including technical product testing and descriptive panel leadership
• Solid understanding of sensory testing methodologies and statistics
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and sensory software such as FIZZ or Compusense
• Excellent organizational, project management, and leadership skills
• Ability to work onsite at the client’s facility in Clark, NJ
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the cosmetics or personal care industry
• Completion of the UC Davis Sensory and Consumer Science Certification
• Demonstrated people-management experience, including coaching and leading technical staff
