Sensor Validation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead sensor validation and characterization for Sensor Sim and SDS products to improve synthetic simulation fidelity.
• Design and execute tests for correlation experiments between real and synthetic sensor outputs.
• Develop hardware and software components necessary for data collection and analysis.
• Improve underlying scenes, materials, and models to enhance simulation accuracy.
• Work directly with customers to validate their models and integrate them with the simulation environment.
• Author white papers and technical documentation detailing validation results.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in a relevant engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in sensor validation and characterization (e.g., Cameras, Lidar, or Radar) under diverse environmental conditions.
• Proficiency in Python and C++ for software development and data analysis.
• Technical proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, including Bash scripting and CLI navigation.
• Experience in sensor driver development and utilizing UDP architectures to parse raw sensor data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of the physical processes by which sensors operate.
• Hands-on experience characterizing simulated sensor models for Lidar, Radar, and Camera.
• Competence in linear algebra, antenna theory, optics, circuits, or photonics.
• Familiarity with computer graphics technologies such as raytracing or physically-based rendering.
