Sensor Fusion Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop tracking, fusion, and state estimation capabilities for unmanned autonomous systems
• Design and build single-agent and multi-target detection and tracking algorithms
• Create decentralized multi-agent, multi-target tracking algorithms for swarms of unmanned autonomous systems
• Take algorithms from concept through to robust, deployable software for real-world autonomous systems
• Collaborate with autonomy engineers, software engineers, and cross-functional teams

Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science, robotics, or a related engineering field
• 5+ years of experience developing tracking and fusion software for autonomous robotic systems
• Experience processing sensor measurements from Optical, RF, Radar, and Lidar sensors
• Expertise in classical state estimation and tracking, including Kalman Filters and Particle Filters
• Proficiency in Python and C++ with strong procedural and object-oriented programming skills
• Experience with multi-target prediction and tracking (MTT)
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a UK security clearance
• Willingness to travel as required by projects (approximately 25%)

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in tracking and fusion software development
• Familiarity with software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) development and testing
• Experience working on national security projects for government agencies
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to cross-disciplinary teams
