Sensor Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own electro-optical selection and system design for image sensors, ISPs, and video transmission electronics
• Serve as subject matter expert on lens technology, defining optical parameters and managing lens sourcing and alignment
• Establish design-in criteria and manufacturing standards for tier-1 camera suppliers, including calibration, gluing, tilt, and environmental sealing
• Plan and execute bench testing of camera samples and competitor units with repeatable test setups
• Write and maintain Python and OpenCV tools to acquire, process, and analyze test data for performance metrics

Requirements

• CAD familiarity (SolidWorks preferred)
• Experience releasing parts for mass production
• First-principles understanding of optics, image sensors, and outdoor environment impacts
• Proficiency in Python or similar for test automation, data analysis, and performance-metric calculation
• Hands-on lab experience characterizing cameras and imagers, including test rigs and interpreting MTF, SNR, dynamic range, and latency
• Working knowledge of imaging signal flow from imager through ISP to digital and analog (CVBS) video output
• Creative problem-solving mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of embedded software in imager chips, ISP, and CV tools
• Demonstrated cradle-to-grave camera product development experience
• FPV drone passion or personal hobby
