Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines using AWS services like Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda, S3, and Glue
• Own the architecture and reliability of core data infrastructure for both streaming and batch pipelines
• Build and maintain data workflows and orchestration using Dagster
• Partner with backend and product engineers to define event schemas and data contracts
• Improve reliability and observability through monitoring, alerting, and lineage tracking
• Optimize pipelines and storage for performance and cost efficiency across AWS and Snowflake
• Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Mentor other engineers and lead technical design discussions

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or infrastructure roles
• Strong programming skills, preferably in Python
• Deep experience building production-grade distributed systems and data pipelines
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services (Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda, Glue)
• Strong experience with Snowflake, including data modeling and optimization
• Experience with orchestration frameworks like Dagster or Airflow
• Proficiency with dbt for managing transformations
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Ability to work onsite 5 days a week in NYC or Boston
