Senior/Staff Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and operate the internal engineering platform to improve developer productivity.
• Optimize CI pipeline execution times using advanced build caching and parallelization.
• Implement automated SLO dashboard instrumentation and alert policy coverage.
• Standardize integrated observability solutions (CPU, heap, and thread profiling) for JVM services.
• Ship AI-assisted capabilities like automated runbook generation and LLM-based log triage.
• Reduce platform support ticket volume through automation and self-service tooling.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience building or operating platforms for Java/JVM-based backend systems.
• Deep expertise in JVM internals (garbage collection, thread modeling, heap analysis).
• Proven track record designing internal developer platforms (service catalogs, scaffolding).
• Expert-level experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
• Strong Linux fundamentals and deep understanding of Kubernetes and container runtimes.
• Experience with continuous profiling tools (async-profiler, Pyroscope).
• Ability to apply data-driven methodologies to diagnose complex infrastructure and runtime issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating LLM tooling into developer workflows.
• Strong background in distributed systems architecture and API design.
• Experience measuring and reporting on DORA metrics and Developer Experience (DX).
