Responsibilities
- Own the electrical architecture of the autonomous tractor platform end-to-end, including harness design, power distribution, and CAN bus topology
- Design, review, and maintain vehicle wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
- Lead root cause analysis on electrical faults and system-level failures across the deployed fleet
- Define and drive corrective actions from field failure analysis to improve hardware design
- Own the electrical bring-up and validation process for new vehicle platforms
- Work with external harness manufacturers to define build specifications and qualify workmanship
- Drive the selection and qualification of electrical and electronic components
- Partner with software and autonomy teams to support hardware bring-up and sensor calibration
Requirements
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in automotive, autonomous vehicles, robotics, aerospace, or industrial equipment
- Deep expertise in vehicle electrical systems, harness/connector design, power distribution, and CAN bus
- Demonstrated ability to create and own complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong background in electrical fault analysis and root cause investigation
- Experience designing for reliability in harsh environments (vibration, thermal, moisture)
- Ability to operate independently and set technical direction across cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with autonomous vehicle or mobile robot electrical systems
- Familiarity with high-voltage vehicle architectures
- Experience working with harness fabrication vendors and contract manufacturers
- Background in defining electrical validation and verification programs
- Experience at an early-stage company building engineering infrastructure from scratch
