Senior/Principal Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct reliability analyses using technical engineering approaches to support the nuclear deterrence program
• Participate in multidisciplinary investigations to identify root causes of failures
• Collaborate with systems, components, and internal partners to communicate results and risks
• Develop and employ methodologies for quantifying reliability uncertainty
• Integrate new reliability methods into organizational processes and toolsets
• Improve design reliability through test planning and failure mechanism analysis

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline plus five years of directly relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Active DOE Q-level security clearance or an equivalent DOD Top Secret level clearance
• U.S. citizenship

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Engineering or a highly related field involving independent research
• Experience working with Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) laboratories and plants
• Experience in engineering design, qualification, production, or modeling/simulation projects
• Expertise in electrical engineering, circuit analysis, or failure mechanisms
• Proficiency in engineering statistics, probability, and sampling-plan development
• Experience with failure analysis techniques such as fault tree or root cause analysis
