About the role

About the Company

Cellular Intelligence (CI) is an AI-native TechBio and clinical stage BioTech company building a universal foundation model of cell signaling to understand, predict, and ultimately control cellular behavior. Based in Boston, CI has raised over $60M to date from Khosla Ventures, CZI, SciFi VC, and AMD Ventures.

Responsibilities

  • Drive scientific interpretation of data from novel microfluidic assays and therapeutic programs, including single-cell transcriptomics and multi-modal readouts
  • Work with the ML team to ground foundation and predictive models in real biology by defining tasks, labels, and evaluations
  • Develop statistically grounded methods for novel assays and contribute to AI-first computational biology
  • Perform detailed analysis to interrogate how assays, methods, and processing choices shape data
  • Maintain depth across modern methods landscape and adapt approaches to specific questions
  • Operate autonomously to help shape the computational biology roadmap
  • Provide technical guidance and collaborate with ML and engineering colleagues

Requirements

  • PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets (e.g., single-cell RNA-seq, spatial omics)
  • Deep quantitative grounding in statistics and probabilistic modeling
  • Deep fluency in the modern Python single-cell stack (scanpy, anndata)
  • Strong scientific rigor and curiosity regarding biological interpretation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong domain knowledge in developmental biology or stem cell research
  • Experience interpreting and modeling data from non-standard or novel assays
  • Experience collaborating closely with ML teams on biological model frameworks
  • Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced environment
  • Strong publication record in top journals
