Senior/Principal R&D Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams in the qualification, maintenance, and sustainment of Mk21 Fuze systems.
• Support stockpile assessment through flight testing, laboratory testing, and component testing.
• Collaborate with Science & Technology experts to plan and analyze data from advanced experiments and modeling.
• Define requirements and develop hardware and software for ground and flight test integration.
• Conduct system test planning and execution for environmental, functional, and safety evaluations.
• Develop and present technical materials for design reviews and customer meetings.
• Perform trade studies and make key decisions based on performance, cost, and schedule constraints.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Electrical Engineering background preferred) and five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Active U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance or equivalent Department of Defense (DOD) clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to work onsite 100% of the time in Livermore, CA.
• Ability to travel occasionally (approximately 3-5 trips per year).

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Engineering or a highly related field.
• Experience working with the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE), including labs such as LANL, LLNL, or KCNSC.
• Experience in engineering design, qualification, production, or modeling/simulation projects.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering concepts and principles.
• Proven ability to collaborate with internal organizations and external production facilities or suppliers.
