About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and administer corporate radiological worker and radiological control technologist (RCT) training programs
- Execute the scheduling, oversight, and delivery of assigned training courses
- Create and update course materials, including lesson plans, exams, exam banks, and presentations
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned training materials
- Perform and document student assessments and submit training records
- Plan course schedules within the corporate training and development system
- Travel periodically to provide training at other Sandia locations in NM, NV, or CA
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in health physics, radiological sciences, nuclear engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Minimum of five years of directly related experience
- Experience as a Radiological Control Technician working under DOE or NRC regulations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience as a radiation protection trainer at a DOE or NRC program
- National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NRRPT) registration
- Active DOE Q-level security clearance or equivalent (e.g., DOD Top Secret)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with standard computer applications including spreadsheets and databases
