About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and administer corporate radiological worker and radiological control technologist (RCT) training programs
  • Execute the scheduling, oversight, and delivery of assigned training courses
  • Create and update course materials, including lesson plans, exams, exam banks, and presentations
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned training materials
  • Perform and document student assessments and submit training records
  • Plan course schedules within the corporate training and development system
  • Travel periodically to provide training at other Sandia locations in NM, NV, or CA

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in health physics, radiological sciences, nuclear engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Minimum of five years of directly related experience
  • Experience as a Radiological Control Technician working under DOE or NRC regulations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience as a radiation protection trainer at a DOE or NRC program
  • National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NRRPT) registration
  • Active DOE Q-level security clearance or equivalent (e.g., DOD Top Secret)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications including spreadsheets and databases
