Senior/Principal Corporate Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist Microchip clients in overcoming hardware design, software design, and manufacturing hurdles by providing technical solutions.
• Enable client self-sufficiency through the creation of technical documentation and training classes.
• Develop proof-of-concept solutions to help clients become familiar with Microchip products.
• Review technical collateral created by the team or other Business Units.
• Collaborate with internal groups, including Quality, Business Units, and Sales, to drive quality improvements and resolve client issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic, or a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience in electronics, embedded system design (Microcontrollers/Microprocessors), or software development.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills to identify root causes of issues.
• Proficiency in programming, specifically C language.
• Fluent English (both written and spoken) with strong communication skills.
• Ability to engage with clients via writing and occasionally by phone.
• Availability to travel occasionally (up to 25%) to the U.S. and within Europe for training and client activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Ethernet or Networking technologies.
• Knowledge of Linux.
• Experience with Microchip development platforms, tools, and products.
• Experience in circuit simulation, PCB layout, and product development.
• Previous experience in technical training or presentations.
