Senior/Lead Cost Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage cost engineering activities for large-scale capital projects, including feasibility studies and budget forecasting
• Develop and implement cost control strategies to optimize project expenditures
• Conduct detailed cost analysis and variance investigations
• Mentor and supervise junior cost engineers and support staff
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams
• Prepare and present comprehensive cost reports and financial forecasts to senior management
• Analyze vendor quotations and negotiate terms to achieve optimal value
• Implement and maintain cost management systems and processes
• Identify and assess cost risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of cost engineering experience in the Energy & Natural Resources sector
• Expertise in project cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control methodologies
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and cost analysis tools
• Strong knowledge of capital project delivery and EPC processes
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost engineering software platforms
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP
• Background in renewable energy project delivery
• Knowledge of Middle East market conditions
• Professional certification in cost engineering or project management
• Experience with risk assessment and contingency planning
