Senior/Lead Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect and build highly scalable, low-latency backend systems to power real-time communications and ML-based feeds
• Design critical APIs and evolve backend infrastructure to support millions of users
• Work closely with product, infrastructure, and data teams to drive technical decisions
• Mentor other engineers and lead cross-team technical projects
• Manage the storage and delivery of billions of user-generated clips

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments
• Strong proficiency in Java and hands-on experience building scalable microservices
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design and distributed systems
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including performance tuning
• Proven ability to build systems handling thousands of requests per second
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS), CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, or other message brokers and caching systems
• Background in SRE, DevOps, or DevSecOps
