Senior Zigbee/Thread Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement firmware solutions for Zigbee/Thread and IEEE 802.15.4-based products
• Develop and optimize low-level drivers, MAC/PHY interfaces, and protocol stack layers
• Debug and resolve wireless interoperability and certification issues using sniffers
• Collaborate with hardware, QA, and product teams for HW/SW co-design and regulatory compliance
• Debug, analyze, and optimize power consumption and timing for battery-operated IoT devices
• Support certification and compliance efforts for Zigbee/Thread-based products
• Document software design, testing procedures, and release notes

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in embedded firmware development
• Strong programming skills in C and Embedded C
• Expertise in IEEE 802.15.4 MAC/PHY, Zigbee, and Thread protocol stacks
• Experience with embedded RTOS such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or Linux system programming
• Proficiency in debug tools including JTAG, GDB, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and sniffers
• Strong knowledge of microcontrollers, transceivers, and RF system design basics
• Hands-on debugging and optimization for low-power wireless systems
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related fields

Preferred Qualifications

• Assembly or scripting skills in Python
• Familiarity with IoT frameworks in home automation, security, and energy management
