Senior Wind Turbine Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical authority for wind turbine technology across Wind Asset Advisory and Due Diligence teams
• Lead OEM turbine technology evaluations for major platforms, including GE and Vestas
• Provide technical leadership on independent engineering due diligence for greenfield, repower, and operating projects
• Execute root-cause investigations into turbine failures such as gearboxes, collapses, and main bearings
• Support field activities, including site visits to operating and under-construction wind farms and turbine inspections
• Interface directly with clients, lenders, and tax equity stakeholders on technical issues
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to build technical depth within the wind team
• Represent UL Solutions in standards committees, industry working groups, and technical forums

Requirements

• University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or Manufacturing Technology
• 15+ years of experience in wind turbine engineering, including design, loads, performance, or operations
• Deep technical knowledge of major OEM platforms, specifically GE or Vestas
• Expertise in wind turbine site suitability and loads modeling
• Willingness and ability to perform turbine climbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of wind farm construction and/or operations
• Technical knowledge of other turbine OEMs, including Nordex, SGRE, and Chinese OEMs
