Senior Welding QC Engineer

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and review construction documents for welding compliance.
• Monitor all phases of welding activities, from design and procurement to construction and final handover.
• Manage the inspection and testing of welding activities and supervise QC Inspectors.
• Witness, review, and approve welder qualifications, WPS, and PQR qualifications.
• Coordinate with third-party testing and inspection companies.
• Identify and resolve non-conformances, raising Non-conformance Reports (NCR) and monitoring corrective actions.
• Perform statistical analysis and evaluation of welding test data.
• Assist the QC Manager with periodic audits of subcontractors and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering with a Master's Degree in Welding.
• Minimum 15 years of welding experience within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Mandatory ADNOC project experience.
• Professional welding engineering certification (IWE or CWE).
• ASNT Level II certification in RT, UT, MT, and PT.
• CSWIP 3.1 certification required (3.2 preferred).
• Certified ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor.
• Deep knowledge of ASME SEC IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104, ISO 13847, SHELL DEP, and ADNOC specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor.
• Strong expertise in welding defect identification and root cause analysis.
