Senior Water Resource Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and assist with the preparation of freshwater resources analyses, reports, designs, and permit applications
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including ecologists, hydrologists, and biologists to advance restoration projects
• Provide mentorship and technical review for junior staff
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and the development of design and permitting documents
• Prepare scopes of work, budgets for proposals, and participate in client meetings and marketing tasks
• Conduct field data collection and site inspections of water control structures

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in water resources engineering
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil or environmental engineering or a related discipline
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (Florida PE preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Experience in freshwater restoration design and project management
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and ArcGIS
• Experience with stormwater hydrology and hydraulic modeling (e.g., SWMM, HEC-RAS, ICPR)
• Ability to perform field work, including walking long distances and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Valid driver's license with a clean record

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in hydrodynamic and water quality numerical simulation modeling
• Experience with construction observations and surveying
• Experience with drainage design for Department of Transportation projects
• Certified/Trained Boat Operator
• Familiarity with Florida ecosystems
