Senior WAN Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• Strategic network design, product selection, routing, configuration and troubleshooting for next-generation WAN
• Scale WAN to meet evolving research and trading application requirements
• Manage overall capacity planning for the Data Center WAN
• Implement programmatically-driven network architectures using Python and configuration management tools
• Analyze traffic patterns and optimize bandwidth usage
• Mentor others as a senior resource

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience with carrier-scale global WAN design
• Expertise in Advanced BGP (BGP-SR, MP-BGP, BGP-LU, Extended Communities, UCMP)
• Expertise in Segment Routing (SR-MPLS, SR-TE, BGP Prefix SID, Flex-Algo, TI-LFA)
• Expertise in MPLS (LDP, RSVP-TE) and OSPF/IS-IS
• Experience with multi-vendor environments (Arista, Cisco, Juniper)
• Proficiency with packet decoding tools like tcpdump and Wireshark
• Experience with public cloud networks (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux command line and networking stack

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
• Optical OLS/DWDM experience
