Senior Vulnerability Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee regular vulnerability scanning using industry tools such as Tenable, Qualys, or Rapid7
• Identify, prioritize, and communicate security vulnerabilities to IT teams responsible for remediation
• Determine vulnerability applicability based on risk, exploitability, and business impact
• Build and leverage relationships to influence IT teams to patch vulnerabilities and increase security awareness
• Automate vulnerability management processes to create operational efficiencies
• Consolidate vulnerabilities from various security tools into an orchestration platform
• Partner with internal security teams including Threat Intel, Forensics, Incident Response, and GRC
• Monitor threat intelligence sources to identify emerging vulnerabilities and risks
• Validate remediation efforts through re-scanning and testing
• Maintain asset inventory alignment to ensure comprehensive scan coverage
• Develop and maintain vulnerability management policies, standards, and procedures

Requirements

• 12–16 years of experience working specifically in a vulnerability management role
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity with leadership experience in vulnerability management activities
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools
• Deep understanding of CVSS scoring, remediation techniques, and OWASP
• Proven experience in security operations, risk management, or vulnerability management
• Understanding of Threat and Risk driven Vulnerability Management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scanning virtual machines, on-premises servers, workstations (Mac/Windows), and network devices
• Ability to lead during zero-day or emergency vulnerability events
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to influence without authority and work effectively within a team environment
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GCIA, GCDA, GSOC, or GCIH
